Case Study | How to Organize an Opening Ceremony in China
On May 27, EASTANT had the privilege of planning a landmark event for UFI Group: the grand opening of their new energy factory, UFI GREEN, in Jiaxing. This significant occasion not only marked a milestone for UFI Group but also highlighted our ongoing fruitful collaboration.
EVENT PLANNING
At EASTANT, meticulous attention to detail guided every aspect of our event planning, ensuring a memorable experience for our client and attendees. Our responsibilities included:
• Event Concept and Space Allocation: We crafted a cohesive theme and optimized venue spaces, thus ensuring that every corner of the plant contributed to the event's grandeur and purpose.
• Graphic Design and Decoration Setup: We meticulously crafted graphic design elements and arranged the setup of the venue with decorations meticulously curated to mirror the image of the client's brand, highlighted by elegant floral arrangements.
• Ceremony Models: The ceremony models warmly greeted the guests and assisted the live performance.
• Multilingual Master of Ceremonies: With the presence of an English-speaking master of ceremonies, we ensured that every attendee felt fully engaged in the event. Moreover, this contributed to maintaining a smooth rhythm and fostering a ceremonious atmosphere throughout the event.
• Live Entertainment: The traditional lion dance performance infused an additional sense of excitement and entertainment, elevating the event to an unforgettable experience deeply rooted in Chinese culture.
• Exquisite Catering: Drawing inspiration from the company's origins, guests were treated to a delicious Italian food experience.
AGENDA
A well-structured agenda serves as the foundation of any successful event, guiding attendees through a seamless journey of experiences and ensuring that each moment is purposeful and meaningful.
Event Launch
The ceremony began with guest and media registration, followed by a breakfast reception to create a relaxed atmosphere for attendees.
Then, the event officially started with speeches from company management and both Chinese and foreign government representatives, setting a tone of international collaboration and mutual achievement.
Integrating Chinese Elements
Incorporating cultural elements is crucial for significant events in China. For UFI Group's ceremony, two key traditions were included:
Sand Pouring Ceremony
This symbolic ritual marks the start of a new venture, representing wealth and promising development. Distinguished guests poured blue sand onto a platform bearing the company's name, gradually revealing it as a symbol of a prosperous beginning.
Lion Dance
The lion dance, a traditional Chinese performance, is meant to bring good luck. The ceremony started with the "waking" of the lion, where a guest painted its eyes, symbolically giving it life. Accompanied by rhythmic drumming, this act breathed vitality into the lion, initiating a dynamic and vibrant performance.
Factory Design Presentation and Tour
To give guests a deeper insight into the company's development, the agenda included a presentation of the factory design and a guided tour of the UFI GREEN plant and showroom.
Event Conclusion
The event concluded with a delicious Italian lunch provided by Mammamia, leaving guests with a lasting impression of hospitality and cultural fusion.

The grand opening of UFI GREEN was a remarkable event that successfully blended traditional Chinese elements with an international corporate culture, reflecting UFI Group's global outlook. At EASTANT, we are proud to have contributed to this significant milestone and wish UFI continued success with their new green plant in Jiaxing.
