IDI South-West Edition in Chengdu

From June 29 to July 1, IDI Italian Design Icons South-West Edition has been held in Chengdu, the home of the Giant Panda as well as one of the most active center of economic development in South-West China.

The event has been organized by Eastant Communication & Events, a company of DP Group, in cooperation with the Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing, EasyHome Top Design Center, Sheijijia and M5.

After the first two editions held in Shanghai in 2016 and 2017 and with the upcoming third edition in November 2018, in Shanghai as well, this has been the first special edition dedicated to South-West China. As every year we select a topic for our exhibition; this year it has been Sustainability & Environment, according to the one chosen by the Italian Design Day 2018.

Indeed, all the set-up has been constructed with 100% recycling materials only and the amazing location of the EasyHome Top Design Center has been decorated in order to look like a real forest.

Let’s take a look to our top exhibitors: AnsaldoBreda, with its beautiful train scale model; iGuzzini with its iconic “Trick”, which created a magical light game; Moto Guzzi with the “V7 III Stone” and Vespa, with “Sprint”, equipped with the new i-get engine, for a total green experience technology; Poltrona Frau, with “Vanity Fair”, an elegant masterpiece both in real size and mini version; Pirelli, with the amazing Pirelli Color Edition; SFH, with its new engine.

During the opening day, on June 29, we had the honor to welcome the CEO of AnsaldoBreda, Mr. Antonio Liguori, who opened the speeches, followed by Ms. Nunzia Carbone, Principal & founder of Dedodesign Architects and Ediblecities and by Mr. Luca Tarsetti, General Manager of iGuzzini Trading.

After, the Vice Consul General of Italy in Chongqing Mr. Davide Castellani closed the speeches and, together with the representatives of some of the brands, answered to the questions of the journalists during the press conference.

On the second day, June 30, it was a pleasure to have other lectures about design for sustainability: the colorful presentation by Ms. Francesca Patti, Architect & Interior Designer of Xi Life; the train “refurbishment” process explained by Mr Ermanno Vitali, General Manager of Chongqing Chuanyi AnsaldoBreda; the focus on the engine by Mr Tony Li, SFH New Product Development Management.
